Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?

Oh my goodness! Another yellow character! And another one of my favorite cakes! This one made for one of my daughter’s best friend’s children! A vertical half sheet cake stacked high, with a dowel going through the center for stability, this was the first of it’s kind for me. This cake is done with buttercream mostly with a few fondant accents.
The kids that the cake was for absolutely loved it!
The most important part of doing a Spongebob cake is making sure you get his facial expression down. That will make or break your cake, no matter what. You have to nail it! My brother is the artist in the family, and I can’t draw to save my life, you wouldn’t want to be my partner in pictionary, so I spend an immense amount of time looking at pictures, trying to recreate perfectly, the images, to make my cakes just as wonderful as the original artist intended them to be. And Spongebob is one of my brother’s favorites, and if he says it looks perfect, then that’s one heckuva compliment. And when all the kids circle around it, all excited, fighting over which piece they want, that’s even better!
